In July12-15, 2015, Dr. Fan Min, Heng-Ru Zhang, Li Jian and the graduate student Ji Dong attended the 14th International Conference on Machine Learning and Cyberneticsandthe 12thInternational Conference on Wavelet Analysis and Pattern Recognition(ICMLC & ICWAPR2015). The conference was held at Holiday Inn Guangzhou Shifu in Guangzhou, China.
Dr. Min serves as a chair of the workshop Advances in Granular Computing-based machine learning in the era of big data. He organized fruitful discussions among scholars. Zhang Heng-Ru presented his paper ¡°Cost-sensitive regression-based recommender system¡± and shared ideas with others. Dong Ji presented his paper ¡°Parameter learning for ant colony optimization to minimal time cost reduction¡± and shared ideas with others.
ICMLC and ICWAPR 2015 offer an international platform for researchers who are actively planning to organize focus group discussion on topics such as fuzzy rough sets and applications, big data and machine learning, cyber security and biometrics. Depending on the outcome of these focus group discussions, a number of special SCI journal issues will be published.
